Kynadi's Birthday was really on Thursday, but we celebrated it on Friday since my mom and John' s work schedules were better that day. Kynadi was sooooo excited for Friday. I don't think I've ever seen her as loony as she was Thursday night. It's been a long time waiting, since we've had a ton of birthday's within the last two months and hers was the last one. So she was out of control with excitement Thursday night as we were telling her the schedule for her Birthday the next day.
I picked up the cake on Thursday and had a dish towel covering it in the fridge. I must have left her alone in the kitchen and her curiosity got the best of her. When I came in the kitchen she told me, with the biggest grin on her face, she had seen under the towel. It was so cute. She couldn't even keep her secret of finding her cake she was so excited.
Then that night my mom came over and we were telling Kynadi how she would get to go to a movie with Grandma the next day. Mom works for an orthodontist and they were having a big movie party for all the patients that came to the office, so my mom was letting Kynadi come too. Mom was telling Kynadi that the party is really just for kids with braces, but that it would probably be ok if she came. Kynadi didn't miss a beat and said, "well I have a brace so it will be ok". Too cute!
Anyway, her birthday was jam-packed. We went to the doc for her 3 year check-up, ate some lunch, I took Kynadi to Rock Springs to meet Grandma for the movie. Then after the movie Grandma brought her back to GR, and we all went bowling; after bowling we came back home and Kynadi had to go on a scavenger hunt for her presents, then we opened them, practiced riding her new bike, had cake and ice cream and were pooped. I let Kynadi play with her new kitchen set and play-dough with Grandma and I before bed. She loved it! I can't even tell you all the "dough" food we made and ate. Thanks Mindy and Kels for the hand-me-down. She even mentioned today that it used to be Kelseys...but that almost seemed to make it a better gift for her.
Kynadi is such a cutie. I can't imagine my life without her. What an incredible spirit she has. She's always so thoughtful and kind. She's the best big sister, always taking care of Brooklyn (and any other kid she thinks needs her) :) She brightens my day EVERY day. I'm soo grateful for my little bean. Happy Birthday Kynadi...you are getting "bigger and bigger".
These movies are a few parts of the scavenger hunt. This was the first year doing it, and Kynadi seemed to love it. I loved doing it growing up, so the tradition continues!! :)
